Mythology Sunset FOTD

Image
Decided to do something with more color for today! Earlier I saw this beautiful orange eye look by Mira (check out her EOTD's, they are gorgeous!) and was inspired to play with my neglected Mac Mythology eyeshadow. It's not the brightest orange ever, but it's still a vivid color! Typically, I'd pair a brighter color with grey or brown or black, but I thought I'd try to be a little more adventurous and pair the orange withs some burgundy & purple instead! Nars Mata Hari Blush

Image
I'm almost through swatching nars blushes!! I believe Orgasm is the last one. Nars describes Mata Hari as a "Rose Petal Pink," and it's also the only matte Nars blush I own! On my skin Mata Hari comes across as a dusty mauvey pink. I really like this tone of pink because it's not too bright, nor too cool toned. I find it to be very wearable! The pigmentation is wonderful but when I first bought it I was having a lot of trouble applying. It just came across way too heavy. Then I discovered the skunk brush! Take a mac 187 type of brush to apply it and you get perfectly flushed rosey cheeks. This is definitely a blush I like to pair with purple or blue eyeshadow looks because of the mauve/plummy undertone. The quality is on par with all the other Nars blushes I've babbled about: it lasts all day on my cheeks, blendable, and VERY pigmented!

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss Swatches

Image
I've had these glosses for a few months now, but I thought I would add some pictures of them. I was able to get a bunch of them because Ulta was having a Revlon buy 1 get 1 free deal at the time and i just couldn't resist! ;) Here's some swatches and info! L-R: Gold Dust, Bordeaux, Rose Pearl, Strawberry, Peony, Hot Pink, Orchid, Pink Ice swatches in natural light...the four on the right are super lustrous glosses: L-R Peach Petal, Nude Lustre, Coral Reef, Pink Whisper swatches with flash the packaging has the quilted pattern on the cap just like the revlon colorburst lipsticks. very sleek looking! Wand is flexible and sort of a flat shape..i find it applies the gloss nicely but i'm not too picky about applicators ;) I REALLY love these glosses. I think the colors are beautiful, really pigmented, and best of all they're very affordable (especially with drugstore coupons)! They last a few hours on me, probably 2-3 which might not seem like a lot to some people

2nd Rock and Republic Eyeshadow Haul & Swatchesl!!

Image
So I made one more R&R haul on hautelook last month and picked up a few more eyeshadows since they are being discontinued! Here's some pics and swatches of what I got! Ambition: shimmery yellow- gold that flashes yellow and gold and cream Chronic: forest green Envy: dark emerald green Twisted: blue based purple Ambition, Chronic, Envy, Twisted All my R&R babies Tried to show some comparison swatches above! -Ambition: couldn't really find a dupe in my shadows. Mac Creme de miel is not as shimmery and is more yellow -Chronic: Nouveau Monde is much more olive than green -Envy: same color family as Mac Humid but richer and darker -Twisted: Nocturnelle is more red based. UD Purple Haze is in a similar color family but has more of a sheen and is a bit lighter. Twisted also has more blue in it than Purple Haze. The quality of the shadows is really wonderful. Buttery, blendable, pigmented, and long-lasting. Get your hands on them if you can! If
