Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

Hey guys! I just wanted to share with you a new(ish) drugstore product I've been really loving. I don't have too many under-eye issues--i usually have a bit of darkness but it's not too bad. I have always concentrated on covering up acne scars rather than my under-eye lol! Anyway, I picked up the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer and was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it!

It comes in a twist pen which I personally don't mind. It took alot of clicks to initially get the product through so make sure to keep twisting until it comes out lol! I've found that i only need one or two clicks of product per eye and then I still have some left over to apply around the nose, mouth and chin.
I really, really love the consistency and coverage that I get from it. It feels very moisturizing under the eye and blends nicely so there is no tugging under the eye. It's not too thick or too runny, it's really the perfect in between consistency. I usually use my Bobbi Brown corrector and I actually think I prefer the Maybelline dream lumi---although the corrector gives great coverage, I sometimes find it doesn't blend as nicely and there is a bit of tugging on the skin no matter how I apply it. It's interesting that Maybelline calls it a "highlighting" concealer---although it does provide a brightening effect, I would assume it to have much less pigmentation and have more of a sheen. It's actually very pigmented for what I need and really does cover my mild under-eye darkness perfectly. Those with heavier under-eye circles or discoloration may find this does not provide enough coverage (although I do find dream lumi to be very buildable!). I also wouldn't recommend using it on blemishes or acne scars--I personally prefer a thicker more opaque type of concealer. Additionally, I didn't have any issues with creasing or cakiness--I always set my concealer with powder to avoid that!

Here's the swatch. I am around NC20-25 and wear the color Nude. It's a light, yellowish shade. It's the perfect shade for me! I may pick up Radiant as well!
I'm so happy to have found such an affordable product that I truly love. I believe it retails for $6.99 but you can always wait for a coupon when purchasing at a drugstore or Ulta! Once I'm done with my Bobbi Brown corrector I will definitely save my money and purchase this Maybelline one again! My only complaint with buying at the drugstore is that you can't swatch the makeup before buying--I agonized over what shade to buy and luckily Nude proved to be the perfect match. I would try to check it out in store so you can see what would be the best shade for your skin color.

I used this concealer in a few of my past FOTD's you can see here and here!

Have you tried the Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer? What's your favorite concealer at the moment?!

**EDITED** Unfortunately, I have a suspicion that this concealer was the source of some cheek breakouts so I have had to stop using it. It took a while to realize. I didn't think it was the cause of it but after playing around with different products and my skincare, I realized this was the culprit. Sadly, trying new products is always a risk with acne prone skin like mine!  It's so awful because I love everything else about the concealer--the coverage, lightness, shade, etc. Darn my skin! I still say you should try it out and see how it works for you since everyone's skin is different.

New Target Beauty Bag for Summer Available!!

I just wanted to give you all a quick heads up about the new Target Beauty Bag available on Target Style's facebook page HERE! (the link is to their facebook page--I'm not affiliated or sponsored by Target in any way--just want to help you all get some free goodies!!)

If you remember, I posted about one that I got last year--you can revisit that post here! It came with a really cute little makeup bag and a bunch of generous samples. It's also COMPLETELY FREE! So run don't walk to Target Style's facebook page, "like" the page and fill out the form to get your own before they run out! It will then arrive in around 6-8 weeks.

Based on the promo image above it looks like they might be including a Revlon lip butter and a Rimmel Mascara! Those would be fantastic freebies (I am still obsessed with my Lip Butters!) so fingers crossed!

Let me know if you were able to sign up to get one!!! I had a bit of trouble with the website earlier but I kept refreshing and was able to get my form through--so don't give up! :)

Mac dupe alert with Inglot!!

I just got ahold of two more Inglot eyeshadows to add to my eyeshadow palettes (see HERE). I noticed right away that they resembled two Mac eyeshadows that I already own so I thought I'd do some comparison swatches for you all!

Mac Humid, Mac Jest
As you may know from reading my original post on Inglot eyeshadows, I am a HUGE fan. I think the Inglot eyeshadow quality is absolutely amazing--every single one of their eyeshadows is smooth, buttery, pigmented, and blend effortlessly. At roughly $5 an eyeshadow, they are a ridiculous steal--I would honestly pay triple the amount for one--which brings me to about the cost of a Mac eyeshadow in pot. I do love a lot of my Mac eyeshadows--many of the colors are unique and have a wonderful texture. However, on the whole, I am really preferring Inglot eyeshadows now--I wish I knew about them years ago!

Inglot 397 Pearl &  Inglot 418 Pearl
Mac Humid & Jest both have a lovely texture--- they are both very smooth and pigmented as well. However, Inglot is even more smooth and pigmented!
L-R Inglot 397, Mac Jest, Inglot 418, Mac Humid
As you can see from above, the Inglot dupes are incredibly similar to the Mac shades. Texture wise, Inglot is more pigmented and smooth. You can see that Mac Humid is a tiny bit more sheer; Inglot 418 is a bit greener in the swatch and Mac Jest is slightly more pink. However, they are pretty darn close! I'll be saying goodbye to my Mac eyeshadows soon now that I have replacements I like much better!

Have you tried Inglot eyeshadows yet? Do you prefer to get rid of dupes in your stash like me? :)

New Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

I hope you guys don't get sick of my reviews of Revlon lip products, but i have yet another product from Revlon to show you: The Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains! This is the first time I've ever tried a lip stain product--I'm not sure there are many drugstore lip stains on the market (let me know in the comments if there are!) but when I saw these I knew I had to try them!

Isn't the packaging cute? They are chubby pencils and they twist up from the bottom so no sharpener is needed! If you google Clinique Chubby sticks they look very similar packaging wise although I've never tried them so I can't comment on the formula.

I picked up three colors. I believe there are around twelve colors available. As you can see from the pictures, I got two bright pinks and a bright coral. In person Lovesick has more of a darker purple undertone in comparison to the hot pink Sweetheart, but they look very similar on the lips and in swatches. As I hate having nearly identical colors in my collection, I'll be getting rid of one of them--regardless they're both beautiful pinks! I realllllly love Rendezvous. It's a really gorgeous bright coral that is incredibly wearable! I have a post HERE where I'm wearing Rendezvous--you can see the color is very pigmented when you build it up!

L-R Lovesick, Sweetheart, Rendezvous

As it's a stain, you can control the amount of color you want. For the swatches, I went over multiple times to get a really nice opaque color but I could have easily done one swipe for sheerer application. I like the texture of these--it is definitely a balm just like the product says so it's not really glossy or slippery. I did find these to be a little more drying than my other lip products (for example the Revlon lip butters which I found incredibly moisturizing). However I usually slather on a moisturizing lip balm before applying so it counteracts dryness the stain might cause. The finish is slightly glossy but after being on the lips for a little while it dries down to a nearly matte finish.

I've been testing these for about a little while now, trying them out everyday and I have to say, the stain is actually really nice! When I apply it opaquely, the color lasts strong on my lips for at least two or three hours before it fades to the stain. Then the stain lasts another couple of  hours. Great lasting power! I really loved wearing a stain version of bright colors--I could just swipe it on and go and I didn't have to be as careful with the application as I do with bright lipsticks (no mirror needed too!). One last note if you're curious: they have a very minty smell! I LOVE the mint--it's so refreshing!

Anyway, if you want an easy way to wear a bright lip, definitely try these out! They come in a ton of shades (from neutral to reds to pinks to brights) I'm sure you could find one that suits your style :) On the other hand, if you are someone who has incredibly dry lips, detests products that are drying or don't like to bother with putting lip balm on before your lip products, you may want to try a more moisturizing lip product (I recommend the Revlon Lip Butters!). If you do try them, remember to look for drugstore sales and coupons!

What do you think of these? Are you a fan of lip stains? If yes what are your favorites!?

Amazing Deal Alert at Big Lots!!

The web has been buzzing recently with the arrival of Philosophy makeup products at Big Lots!! I know I've seen Philosophy at Sephora, Ulta, and high end department stores--so the fact that this high end brand is showing up in discount stores such as Big Lots (and I've seen body washes at TJMaxx!) is fantastic!! I was overwhelmed with excitement when my mom and I spotted the Philosophy products in the health/beauty section of the store.

Here's a little iphone picture I took of some of the display. It was nestled in between other beauty products.

Here's the products I got:

2 Lit from Within Cream Blushes in "look on the bright side" & "feel warm all over"- a bright, cool pink & a shimmery pinky/gold/coral that reminds me of a cream version of Nars Orgasm
1 Angel Kiss Lip Gloss in "pretty please 01"- a sheer pink
1 Amazing Grace Shimmering Face Powder in "amazing grace"--a pearly, baby pink powder highlighter
1 Divine Illumination ageless skin luminzer in "love at first light"- a creamy gold toned cream highlighter

How satisfying is this image? Only $3.00 per item!!!

L-R "look on the bright side," "feel warm all over," "pretty please," "amazing grace," "love at first light"

I LOVE everything I got. I haven't used many cream blushes before--I always thought they were off limits for a person like me who has combination/oily skin. However, the finish these cream blushes leave is wonderful---they apply and blend nicely and dry to a powder consistency so my cheeks don't feel sticky or anything like that. The gloss only gives a touch of color but I think the texture is really lovely and would be great over lipsticks. I am in love with the highlighters!! This is my first pink toned highlighter and it is just so pretty. It adds such a radiant baby pink to glow to the skin! I like layering it over the "look on the bright side" cream blush--it literally gives the most lovely pink cheeks! "Love at first light" is also gorgeous. It blends effortlessly into the skin and gives you a natural glow. I absolutely love my powder highlighters (like theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer & Dior Amber Diamond) however I can see using this one during the daytime more because the cream texture looks a little more subtle on the cheeks.

Basically you NEED to get yourself over to Big Lots if you want an incredible deal on Philosophy products. There were some more items there that I didn't pick up myself such as liquid highlighter, eyeshadow palettes, tinted moisturizers, brushes, and bronzers. I think some people have even found more cream blush and lip gloss colors. The prices are so low for such lovely products I think my mom and I are probably going to go hunting for some more this week!

Word of warning though: look through everything carefully. Many of the items were opened and abused: people had stuck their fingers right into the cream blushes! I had to look at each item closely to make sure they weren't opened!

What do you think of Philosophy makeup products?! Are you going to make a trip to Big Lots?! Let me know what you've found there if you do!
