Anastasia Beverly Hills Bold & Beautiful Kit

Image
Today I thought I'd show you the Anastasia Beverly Hills Spring 2013 offering, the Bold and Beautiful Kit! If you like neutral shades and defined, groomed brows then this would be a great kit to check out. Very nice, simple packaging presented like a two box set--one set is for the brows, the second is for the eyes. I love that the palettes are nice and thin but I do think there is a lot of empty cardboard space. If they made them even smaller it would be even more convenient for travel. The brow set comes with a waxy brown shade on the left and a cool toned ashy taupe brow powder. The pomade holds the brows in really nicely, does not come out too dark and is lightly pigmented so it is buildable--i think if your brows are not too light or too dark it would work nicely. The brow gel works a bit better for holding very unruly brows in place, but if you only need a little bit of hold, the pomade is perfect! I really like the powder too--I thought it might be a little to...

Anastasia Beverly Hills 2012 Holiday Sets:Swatches & Review

Image
I know I know---it's halfway through January and I'm only now touching on some holiday stuff. I've had these Anastasia Beverly Hills Holiday sets for about two months and I've really enjoyed playing with them. I didn't have time to do much blogging before the holidays so unfortunately I couldn't get this post up when they first came out. I have seen them on the Anastasia website though ( here ) so you may still be able to get ahold of them! First up is the "Kisses On My List" lipgloss set. L-R: Jolene, Sharona, Roxanne, Lola, Maggie May, Moi These are the 6 closses included in the kit. It contains three Hyperfull Glosses, Sharona, Maggie May, & Moi. These are supposed to be hydrating and on the sheer side. I however found that all of the lipglosses were pretty pigmented and could easily be worn alone. The other three, Jolene, Roxanne, & Lola are the Hypercolor glosses---they are supposed to "react with your skin's chemistr...

Anastasia Beverly Hills She Wears It Well Palette

Image
Today I wanted to show you a palette I've been playing around with a lot the past month! It's the Anastasia Beverly Hills She Wears It Well Palette. If you are a lover of neutrals like I am, definitely keep reading!  The packaging sturdy black faux alligator skin design. I love that it isn't bulky like some other palettes I've seen--it's thin and simple! There is also a decent sized mirror on the inside of the lid! Also included were some large flash carsds with all sorts of looks you can create from the palette. The cards aren't included with the palette but I may do some looks from them in some future posts if you're interested. I think it would have been nice if they included smaller versions of these cards with the palette! Neutral loveliness! As you can see a majority of the colors are on the shimmery side while the colors on the right are a matte formula (with the exception of the pink which has a bit of shimmer!) The palette also includes a ...

Anastasia Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat

Image
As we go into the hottest month of summer, I'm sure many of you will be spending as much time as you can outside--time to take advantage of the weather before it's gone! I for one am not a huge fan of piling on makeup when it's hot outside--hence my lack of FOTD's the last month! There are a few exceptions though--aside from my skincare and sunscreen, I like to slap on a tinted moisturizer, add some blush, and as always, a few coats of mascara so my eyes look slightly defined. That's where Anastasia's Lash Genius has really been a lifesaver for me. As someone with very oily lids, mascara in hot weather is almost always a huge no! It will smear or flake off within a few hours and I'm left with a mess. I know there is always the waterproof mascara route, but I have never been a fan of it--I find everything about them to be too harsh. I hate the process of removing my makeup already and every waterproof mascara I've tried takes forever to remove! I also h...

Anastasia Beverly Hills See & Be Seen Kit!

Image
Hey everyone! I have a really exciting limited edition kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills to show you today! I am a huge fan of the Anastasia's brow products--I love the brow powder. I use "Brunette" nearly every day to fill in my brows. I am just thrilled that they wanted me to try out some of their other products!! I wasn't quite sure what to expect since I hadn't tried any of their makeup products before. I was pleasantly surprised--the quality is really impressive! This particular kit is called See and Be Seen!  The kit comes with an eyeshadow duo, two lipglosses, and a tinted brow gel! On Set Illumin8 Eyeshadow Duo On Set Illumin8 Eyeshadow Duo : The color on the left is a shimmering peachy apricot while the right side is a very warm orangey bronze. The colors are seriously gorgeous!! I was also pleasantly surprised to find that I do not own anything similar to them (look below at my comparison swatches!). They are silky smooth, blend easily, and ar...

Anastasia Brow Powder

Image
I've come a long long long way with my brows. Up until 2 years ago I had never touched a pair of tweezer or got them threaded or waxed. I was not blessed with nice, clean arched brows. I had crazy thick, shapeless brows with stray hairs everywhere. In college I finally plucked them myself but it was a slow process because I was determined to avoid over plucking! Only the last few months have I FINALLY gotten a handle on the shape I like my brows to be. I started using Anastasia brow powder about a year ago to really define my brows and it makes a HUGE difference, I wish I had paid attention to my brows so much more. They really do frame your face more than anything. If you need something new to fill in your brows, take a look at Anastasia brow powder here: I use "Brunette." I believe there are 5 other color options! Here's why I love this powder: Pigmentation & Texture: For some reason, the texture and pigmentation of this powder ...
