Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl

Image
Although my skin can be on the oiler side most days, I have never favored a matte look. I LOVE the look of dewy skin and because of that I have always loved using highlighters. I've always been a lover of powder highlighters and hadn't really delved into the world of liquid highlighters. When I saw makeup artist Lisa Eldridge use the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in one of her youtube videos, it immediately caught my attention. The glow it gave was so beautiful and ethereal--I had to get my hands on it!  Firstly, the packaging is great--you get 50ml of highlighter and because you only need the tiniest amount, this bottle is basically going to last forever. It has a pump applicator. I find half a pump is more than enough product for both cheeks! Now for the product, I am in love. It blends so effortlessly into the skin and imparts such a beautiful, healthy glow. It is not glittery at all--it has a beautiful pearly sheen that manages to be glowy & dewy without look...

Amazing Deal Alert at Big Lots!!

Image
The web has been buzzing recently with the arrival of Philosophy makeup products at Big Lots!! I know I've seen Philosophy at Sephora, Ulta, and high end department stores--so the fact that this high end brand is showing up in discount stores such as Big Lots (and I've seen body washes at TJMaxx!) is fantastic!! I was overwhelmed with excitement when my mom and I spotted the Philosophy products in the health/beauty section of the store. Here's a little iphone picture I took of some of the display. It was nestled in between other beauty products. Here's the products I got: 2 Lit from Within Cream Blushes in "look on the bright side" & "feel warm all over"- a bright, cool pink & a shimmery pinky/gold/coral that reminds me of a cream version of Nars Orgasm 1 Angel Kiss Lip Gloss in "pretty please 01"- a sheer pink 1 Amazing Grace Shimmering Face Powder in "amazing grace"--a pearly, baby pink powder highlighter 1 ...

Mac Vanilla Pigment

Image
Vanilla Pigment seems to be one of the most popular and most loved products from Mac. What I love about pigments is that you can use it for so many different things--you can use it on the eyes, cheeks, mouth, body, and even mix it in with your foundation for glow or a clear nail polish to make your own unique color. I use Mac Vanilla all the time as a cheek highlighter and eyeshadow and have even mixed it in with a body lotion to give my skin a pretty sheen! It's such a gorgeous, versatile product! Here's some more info: When you first look at the pigment in the jar, you'd assume it's just a shimmery white color. However, when used and blended the color is much more complex. As you can see below (on the right) it has a mixture of gold, peach, and yellow shimmers in it. Texture wise it's not frosty at all and feels really smooth--it has a beautiful sheen to it. It also (thankfully) lacks big chunks of glitter, making it very wearable and flattering on the sk...

TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Info & Swatches

Image
I've been wanting to dedicate a post to TheBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer because i think it's really a beautiful product! I've had it for a little over 2 weeks and I can already say that it is one of my favorite products ever! Here's some pictures... Cute packaging! As you can see it's a beautiful golden-y beige champagne highlighter that you can use to highlight your cheeks, eyeshadow, brow bone, decolletage, etc.. Swatched on the left (one swipe!) and blended out on the right It is GORGEOUS! The pigmentation is amazing, you only need the tiniest bit to blend onto your cheek bones to give you a beautiful, natural looking, ethereal glow. There is no heavy glitter, it just has a subtle sheen to it and even though it's a powder product, the texture is so soft it's almost cream-like. It's just really important to blend it since it is so pigmented! Also, this stuff stayed on my cheeks all day! I really have nothing bad to say about it at all, I love it. The pa...
