Beauties in Bloom

Lately this has become one of my go to looks. In the last few years green has become one of my favorite colors--which is shocking because I was always a purple girl growing up! As you may know from reading my blog, I'm usually a scaredy cat with very bright color--pairing colors with neutrals is always my favorite thing to do. Today I used a khaki color on the lid with a neutral brown in the crease--the perfect way to wear colors if you want something more subtle. This time I added a touch of Inglot 333 to the outer-v to give it even more of a green tinge! Hope you like it! Hey everyone! Here's my first FOTD for 2013! Very exciting. It's also my first look with my new glasses I got a few months ago. My prescription for the new year was increased a little bit so I've found myself wearing my glasses a lot more lately. Initially, I was worried I'd have to change the way I did my eye makeup but so far so good! Only differences are that I try to make sure my brows are groomed and that I use a little more undereye concealer to make sure the area is nice and bright--otherwise, I don't change a thing. This is a look I've been doing a lot lately--the gold/orange Inglot eyeshadow makes me feel extra summery! :) As usual with my orange toned looks, I am always drawn to chocolatey yumminess of Nars Galapagos to warm the shadow up even more! Here's a messy smokey eye I did using some earthy, matte colors. I wish the teal around the eye photographed better--it's much more vibrant in person! Maybe it's time to upgrade my camera?  Love how simple it was to do as well--only two colors and a highlight! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! New Years Eve is typically a night where everyone goes all out with gold and silver and glitter! I figured I'd use this night to use eyeshadow colors that I don't wear very often: blue!! I'm usually a bit uncomfortable with blue all over the eyes, so I softened it by using more silvery-blue on the lids. I really hope you like this look!! I paired this one with a nude lip (Mac Creme D'Nude) but I also feel like this would have been worked well with a berry lip! I acquired the Nars duo in Demon Lover in a trade recently and thought I'd post the first look I did with it. I had to work a bit more with blending since they are more on the matte side, but I still love the texture and especially the color! The duo comes with a blue lavender and matte plummy purple...definitely a cohesive duo since the colors match so well together! I'll post full swatches and pictures of it soon! I am just loving this palette. Brain surgeon is probably my favorite color from the palette (like many, i am a total sucker for gorgeous purple eyeshadow!), so I couldn't help but include it again.
