Beauties in Bloom

Today I wanted to show you another Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner that I have been a fan of for a few months now. I previously talked about how much I love the Black Ink color HERE . I think Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliners are such a fantastic product--I wish I could collect them all! Forest Shimmer Ink is a sooty dark olivey green with subtle gold shimmer. It is such a stunning color! I personally love wearing it with green, brown, gold, and cream eyeshadows or just on it's own. It's very versatile for a green eyeliner because the brown/olive undertones helps make it more neutral and wearable. Pigmentation is excellent--it's completely opaque and the shimmer stays on to give a lovely effect on the eyes. Texture is creamy and smooth so it applies very easily with all types of eyeliner brushes. Lately this has become one of my go to looks. In the last few years green has become one of my favorite colors--which is shocking because I was always a purple girl growing up! As you may know from reading my blog, I'm usually a scaredy cat with very bright color--pairing colors with neutrals is always my favorite thing to do. Today I used a khaki color on the lid with a neutral brown in the crease--the perfect way to wear colors if you want something more subtle. This time I added a touch of Inglot 333 to the outer-v to give it even more of a green tinge! Hope you like it! I've been obsessed with greens lately--more specifically olive green. I just bought this new olive scarf so I thought I'd do a champagne eye with a touch of green to compliment it! I also wanted to play around with my new L'oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Iced Latte. It makes the most perfect shimmery lid color and it goes with any color! In Pixiwoo's (youtube them if you haven't already!) most recent video, they did a look with gold eyeshadow on the lid and olive green in the crease. I loved it and decided to try it as I've been obsessed with olive-y eyeshadows for the past few months! I used more of a brown on the lid instead though. I was at Walgreens and finally decided to purchase another Wet n Wild 8 pan palette. I really love the blue palette, Blue Had Me At Hello (see my other post here ! It's one of my very first blog posts too! hehe) and decided why not!  It was $4.99 and for this type of quality, its a complete steal. Here's some pictures and very hastily done swatches! Swatched the left column top to bottom first, then right column! Are these pigmented or what! The Wet N Wild eyeshadows are really buttery soft and very vibrant. The only bad thing is that they are almost too  soft, so you have to be very careful when applying. Make sure to pat them onto a good base to avoid lots of fallout and don't over blend! I hope I'm not a terribly boring blogger showing repetitive looks but...here's a second FOTD using Nars Nouveau Monde duo eyeshadow. I wanted to intensify the smokiness of this duo, so I added a bit of Mac Humid to the outer-v to make it more nighttime appropriate! I think it definitely enhanced the combo even more! Also, I decided to search through my camera's manual and actually read it so I would know how to properly use it (only 8 months later hehe)...I changed some settings and I think the colors are much more true to life in the close up photos now. I decided to do a look using the green/olive side of Nars Nouveau Monde! I used mac humid in the outer-v to bring out the green tones in the nars shadow--the camera didn't pick up all the color, but it turned out much more green in person! A year ago I never would have touched green eyeshadow, but I really love doing looks with it now! I also used my bobbi brown chocolate shimmer ink--it's gorgeous but I always tend to use black eyeliner in my looks over any other color.
