Beauties in Bloom

Hi everyone! I had such a battle with my camera today. The lighting wasn't good, camera wouldn't pick up the colors, blah blah blah. I find that the camera picks up more dramatic looks really well but doesn't capture the eyeshadow when I do more of a natural look. I wanted to post today's look though because I'm wearing Mac Shy Girl, a lipstick I got from MAC's recycling program Back 2 Mac! I've been loving this lipstick so much! Nars Abysinnia (brow bone too) & Urban Deacy Sin on lid, Urban Decay Naked in Creae, Urban Decay Buck in outer crease, Nars Galapagos in outer-v ^^Had a lot of trouble getting close up shots of the eyeshadow. it turned out so muddy on camera but was much more defined in person! Haven't done one of these all summer (lazy i knowww) but here's some stuff I loved a lot during the month of August! theBalm Mary Lou Manizer : this was in my May favorites when i first got it, but i'm glad to say i am still completely obsesssed with it. seriously gives you the prettiest glow ever. here's my initial post about it HERE . OPI On Collins Ave. Nail Polish : Wore this color on my toes for basically the entire month (still keeping it on my toes right now too!) and pretty frequently on my fingers. The color just screams hot weather and summer to me! It's a creamy bright red-orange (not too red though).  Its bright and bold and perfect for summer! I am just loving this palette. Brain surgeon is probably my favorite color from the palette (like many, i am a total sucker for gorgeous purple eyeshadow!), so I couldn't help but include it again. Here's the first look I came up with playing using theBalm and the beautiful palette (you can see pics and info HERE ). I decided to use the deep purple and taupe to make a slightly cool toned smokey look! Okay I am officially not allowed to buy anymore makeup unless I absolutely need it! I haven't really bought much makeup the last few months so all this theBalm stuff at such a good price isn't the worst thing ever, right? "TheBalm and the Beautiful" palette is apparently the 2011 holiday palette and is basically the same palette (identical in colors!) as theBalm "Cast your Shadow" Muppets themed palette currently available now. Not sure why this palette was at TjMaxx so early, but lucky me! I actually think the packaging of this one is pretty hilarious. My mom loves her soap operas. I'm not really a huge fan of them, but sometimes I will watch them with her and they are just so hilariously dramatic. I think theBalm did a great job poking fun at daytime soaps with eyeshadow names such as "the guy who died but didn't really die," "the coma patient," and "the basket case." Here's another blush I snagged for $9.99 at Marshalls! Yet another winner from theBalm. Seriously, I am so obsessed with their products!! theBalm calls it a "dusty rose sheen" This color is just gorgeous. It's a rose pink blush with a hint of raspberry and plum. It's definitely not your typical pink blush. As with the other blush I got, Frat Boy (which you can see HERE ) it's incredibly pigmented. It has a very subtle, pearl sheen to it (no sparkles). Because it's so strongly pigmented, i'd definitely recommend applying with a light hand or a skunk/stippling blush. Blended out it gives a beautiful pink glow to the cheeks, but be careful not to overapply (or you'll get clown cheeks!). Just like frat boy, the texture is very smooth and blends very easily so you can apply it exactly where you want. Packaging is cute and functional.
