Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadows

Image
Hey everyone! How's the end of February going for you? Last week I picked up two of the Maybelline Color Tattoos that just came out in the last few months. I've heard so many wonderful things about them that when Rite Aid had them buy one get one 1/2 off and I had a $3 coupon, I couldn't resist! I bought two colors, Tough as Taupe and Pomegranate Punk. Tough as Taupe on left and Pomegranate Punk on the right It was so difficult to pick out just two colors, but I thought these two looked pretty unique and I don't have anything like them in my collection! As you can see, they are housed in little glass jars--functional and cute! You can see the color from the bottom (although I forgot to photograph that!). Their packaging is actually quite similar to the Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows (they have identical round, black caps at least!) They are cream eyeshadows, unlike the L'oreal infallible eyeshadows which are finely packed loose eyeshadow--I've heard...

Zoya Lael

Image
My next nail of the day is Zoya's Lael, a beautiful deep plum purple! Pardon the messy application! I took the picture shortly after I applied! Zoya describes it as "A deep, saturated red-toned plum purple with a shiny creme finish. A rich grape shade for fall glamour." Formula is great--I did 3 thin coats for full opacity. I think it's a beautiful and simple color for fall and winter. I always love wearing purple nail polish so this one definitely did not disappoint! It's probably not the most unique shade that I own from Zoya but it's beautiful nevertheless. I also love that this color is not so dark that you can't tell it's purple (like some vampy colors can get if they're too dark!). If you're in need of a good plummy eggplant nail polish, definitely check out Zoya Lael!

Impassioned Pink and Browns

Image
Lately I cannot seem to get enough of winged liner and to my surprise, bright lipsticks! I've been forcing myself to come out of my shell and stop being shy about wearing bright lipsticks! So far it's working! I love the way winged liner looks with bright lipstick--it seems to balance everything out. I used a bit of brown on the eyes since I love the look of chocolate eyeshadow with pink lips! Mac Runaway Red Lipstick Haul

Image
Wanted to do a quick post about Mac Runaway Red Lipstick from the recent Mac Shop, Cook collection that just came out! I've been on the hunt for a flattering red lipsick for a while now so I made sure to get to the Mac store early today to check out the new collection. Mac Runaway Red is not a new lipstick from Mac (it was last seen in Fall 2011 with the Mac Me Over collection) but it is sadly limited edition--so it could be repromoted in future collections. I'm glad I finally got my hands on ti! No Flash Mac Runaway Red is my personal perfect red--it's just the right color that I've been looking for. It's a medium-deep blue-based cranberry red with the slightest touch of pink/fuchsia. It's not too dark, not too bright. It doesn't pull too orange or too blue or too pink on me, it's just a true red. It is a "satin" formula so they are not quite as moisturizing feeling as a cremesheen yet aren't as dry as matte lipsticks. Many people ha...

January 2012 Favorites!

Image
I can't believe it's already February! I'm sure everyone says this but time is really flying! I haven't done a "monthly favorites" post in a while so i thought I'd share some products I've really loved throughout the month of January! Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed:  This blush is a really beautiful, flattering nude pink. It has the perfect amount of brown, pink and plum to give a bit of soft definition to you cheeks. I always reach for it when I'm in a rush, have no idea what to wear, or need something that will compliment a strong eye or lip since it goes with anything. Formula is pigmented and long wearing too. It's an amazing blush and really deserves it's own post (will do that soon!!). Zoya Kelly : I hope you're not getting sick of hearing me talk about Zoya polishes! They are my favorite! I wore Kelly a few times this month. It's a rich bluish-purplish grey--unique enough that I'm never bored of it yet neutral...
