Smoked Snakeskin FOTD

Wanted to do a dark look using R&R Snakeskin! I wish the photos could have captured the complexity of this shade: its a mix of brown,grey,gold,green. Love it!

    Okay okay, I have to say you are one of the first people I have come across on beauty blogs (other than briefly a post here and there from Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmeres) who uses Laura Mercier products! I ABSOLUTELY love her foundation and I just discovered her tinted moisturizer. Have you ever used her foundation before?

    thank you so much!! i actually only discovered Laura Mercier in december when I bought her flawless face kit from sephora (and fell in love with it). I've only tried the concealer, tinted moisturizer, and primer so far but I think I'm definitely going to try a foundation next. Which ones do you like from her?
    I just ordered the mineral powder spf 15 to use over my tinted moisturizer so i'm hoping i'll like that! I was thinking of trying the oil-free foundation! I'm trying to avoid trying any of the makeup products just because i don't need anymore lip or eye or cheek products in my stash! lol

    Yeah, I love her foundation. I use the silk creme foundation and I have had it for about six months and I still have so much left. You only need a dallop and you get so much coverage. Love it! I know what you mean. I have too much makeup in general and will probably never get through it all!

If I had to choose a favorite eyeshadow color to use, my favorite would most definitely be a shimmery bronzey brown. Call me boring when there are so many vibrant colors to choose from, but I can't help it! I absolutely love a shimmery chocolate smokey eye more than anything else. I think brown is flattering on all eye colors and it can be made subtle enough for daytime or dramatic for evening. I just hit pan on two bronze colors in my eyeshadow collection so I thought I'd do some comparison swatches for you before I finish them up! Nars Galapagos Swatches and Thoughts

Hello!! Sorry for the short absence, I haven't had much free time this past week because of end of the year stuff and i'm so happy and excited to say that I graduated from college last Thursday! Yay!! Back to makeup, here's the beautiful Nars Galapagos that I treated myself to last week. I am absolutely in love... Nars describes it as:  "bitter chocolate infused with gold" These pictures don't do the color justice at all! It's the most beautiful brown! You can sort of see the golden shimmer in the pictures, but it's even prettier in person. The color is a gorgeous warm brown with gold shimmer. The pigmentation is excellent. It is not as smooth as my nars mekong (which is ridiculously buttery), but it is still incredibly soft, easily blendable, and pigmented. Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush: Lover's Blush

Estee Lauder has certainly been making a comeback in the makeup world ever since makeup artist Tom Pecheux became the creative genius behind Estee Lauder's pure color lines. They have come out with a number of exciting products--more pigmented eyeshadows, new lipsticks, colored mascaras, etc. Last year, Estee Lauder's blush line was completely revamped into the Pure Color Blush line we know now. Their blushes are definitely giving blush frontrunners like Nars, Mac, & Illamasqua a run for their money! I've been using the shade "Lover's Blush" a lot recently. They're housed in a large gold compact and contain a mini brush for touchups. I personally don't like when companies include mini brushes--I usually find the quality to be quite useless and it just takes up space in the compact. I've just kept mine in there unused. The blush size is quite generous, you get .25oz. For the exact same price of $28, you only get .16oz in a Nars blush. Somet
